Remember, Remember it’s all for Movember!

Southdowns customers may have noticed General Manager Andrew Ayling sporting rather more facial hair than usual this month. Never afraid to try growing an interesting moustache, Andrew has joined thousands of other men around the country helping raise vital funds and increase awareness of men’s health by taking part in Movember.

Andrew was encouraged to get involved by his 11-year old son Archie, who for obvious reasons has a year or two before he can take part!

For those of you who haven’t heard of this increasingly popular fundraiser, it goes like this.

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces. The aim is to raise funds and make men aware of serious health issues such as prostate and testicular cancer.

On 1st November each year you can register at Movember.com with a clean-shaved face and then for the rest of the month (ignoring the complaints of wives and girlfriends) you can groom, trim and wax your way into the annals of fine moustachery. Funds raised in the UK go directly to Movember’s own health programmes and to the Prostate Cancer Charity and the Institute of Cancer Research.
