Laika and Honda at Dakar 2019

The two brands together again for the most difficult race

Laika Ecovop Motorhome at 2019 Dakar Race

Honda Racing Corporation and Laika renew their partnership again this year in view of the Dakar 2019. In collaboration with the Spanish dealer Autosuministros, Laika will provide two low-profiles, an Ecovip 309S and an Ecovip 409, which will accompany the Honda team throughout the race.

Now in its tenth South American edition, the historic rally race will last from 6 to 17 January 2019 and will take place entirely in Peru in a ring route with start and finish in Lima. The route is divided into 10 stages and will cover 5,000 km, 70% of which will be on sandy soil. It will therefore be extremely important to rely on vehicles that are not only technically resistant, but also handy to manoeuvre.

This year's Honda team including Joan Barreda, Kevin Beanvides, Paulo Gonçalves, Ricky Brabec and Ignacio Cornejo will be able to rely on the two Ecovip 309S (6.99 m long) and Ecovip 409 (7.49 m long) low-profiles to tackle difficult terrain and roads. The two Ecovip low-profiles will be the ideal travel companions in this adventure: the drivers can use them as a base between one stage and the next, to plan the itinerary and to rest. The 210-cm internal height and the comfortable dinette with ergonomic seats will allow the drivers to carry out their daily activities in full comfort inside the motorhome. The beds, with thick Biolatex mattresses and wooden slats, will ensure the necessary rest for the riders, who can "recharge" before facing the next stage.

The collaboration between HRC and Laika has been renewed for years, supported by the resistance and reliability that Laika motorhomes have shown even in the difficult road conditions and climate of the famous rally race.
