Ryan Vevers, Southdowns Aftersales Specialist

Ryan Vevers

Aftersales Specialist

Having joined Southdowns straight from school in 2006, Ryan has now been promoted from the valetting team to taking responsibility for aftersales. We asked him how he is enjoying his new role so far.

Q What are your key responsibilities?
A I'm responsible for contacting customers who have recently bought vehicles from us to ensure that they are satisfied with their motorhome and our service. I man the services line and book vehicles into the workshop, writing up job sheets for handover to Andy Bottle's team of technicians. I also arrange MOTs and chassis servicing for customers which we don't do in-house.

Q What made you want to change jobs?
A I had worked my way up to being in charge of the valetting team but I had been responsible for cleaning the motorhomes for a few years and was looking for a new challenge.

Q What is the best thing about working for the company
A I work with nice people - everyone's friendly. I'm enjoying having a new challenge to get to grips with and the days go by really quickly. I have had a few difficult customers but I try to deal with them politely and pass them on to someone who can help.

Q Does working with motorhomes hold an appeal for you?
A I think they appeal more to older people with families - I'd rather stay in a hotel! But if I could borrow one for a week or two I 'd like to go to Portugal.

Q Finally, if you could fulfil one ambition, what would it be?
A I'd like to move abroad - somewhere with better weather than England and a good lifestyle.

Ryan lives in Bognor with his mum and dad and his brothers. A keen footballer, he once had a trial for Millwall Football Club but now he is getting into running and aims to run the Brighton Marathon in 2012.
