Sales specialist Trudy is the only woman in the Southdowns sales office and aims to bring a little glamour, as well as plenty of experience, to the sales team.
Q How did you find yourself working for Southdowns?
A Having spent 14 years in sales with Thomas Sanderson, the specialist conservatory blinds company and prior to that running my own health and fitness company, I was looking for a new challenge. I have plenty of sales experience and thought it would be interesting to work with a completely different product. I already knew Stephen Delaney and had heard good things about Southdowns so when a job came up I applied - and here I am.
Q What does your job involve?
A As part of the sales team I meet and greet walk-in customers as well as dealing with telephone enquiries and following up on existing and potential customers. We spend a long time getting to know our customers and understanding exactly what they are looking for so we can match their needs to the right motorhome - itís not a fast sell. That means you need a lot of product knowledge which I donít have yet - but Iím working on it.
Q What is the best thing about working for the company
A Iíve only been here four weeks but so far I am enjoying building relationships with customers and really appreciate the help and support I am getting from my colleagues.
Q If you could take a motorhome anywhere in the world, where would you go?
A Iíve never spent any time in motorhomes but I would love to do a road trip around Europe in one - maybe down through France, Spain and Italy. If I talk nicely to Russell and Andrew, maybe they will lend me one!
Q Whatís your personal philosophy?
A First, smile. Then treat everyone as you would like to be treated yourself.
Trudy lives in Old Portsmouth and is a trained make-up artist.
