Ryan Vevers
Aftersales Specialist
Ryan has been with Southdowns since he left school in 2006. He was promoted from the valeting team to take up a position aftersales in 2010.
Q How has the company changed since you joined in 2006?
Southdowns and the workshop team, who I work closely with have expanded a
lot in the time I've been with the company. I've now moved from the front desk
at the Motorhome Centre in Painter close to our new workshop site round the
corner in Alchorne Place. Splitting the showroom and the workshop facilities has
been a good move. We have a lot more space and that means we can now provide a
better, more efficient service for customers.
Q How has your job changed during that time?
My job involves taking bookings for motorhome servicing, keeping the
workshop schedule up-to-date and contacting customers to check they are happy
both with the work carried out and the service they have received. I also deal
with Warranty claims and orders parts and it is noticeable that the Burstner and
Carthago motorhome brands are really taking off and gaining in popularity with
customers.
Q Eight years is a long time with one company, what has kept you with at
Southdowns for that length of time?
Eight years with the same company is a long time when you're only 24 but I was
promoted when I was only 20 and am still learning all the time. I like acting as
workshop manager Andy Bottle's 'right hand man' and pick up a lot from Andy and
the technicians in the workshop. We are a lot busier than we used to be and the
company is bigger but everyone pulls together and there is a good team spirit.
Ryan lives with his girlfriend Becky in Bognor. He is now learning to drive so Becky can stop supplying him with an unpaid taxi service!
