Rod & Steve Freeman Sky Dive for Olivia

Southdowns' Sales Specialist in Charity Parachute Jump to Help Those That Helped His Sick Grandaughter

March 2017

This summer, Southdowns Sales Specialist Rod Freeman and his son Steve (who used to work for us as a valeter when he was younger) will be jumping out of a plane in a sponsored parachute jump to raise money for a very special local cause that is close to their hearts, Ronald McDonald House in Southampton.

Rod tells us why.

"When my Granddaughter was born last year she had many complications and we almost lost her. If it had not been for the team at Southampton hospital she would not be here now .

The Ronald McDonald house in Southampton provides a safe home for the families of children that have heart complications and all manor of problems.

The cost of keeping this fantastic service is huge and we would like to help keep it going.  Please help to give these children a comfort blanket around their heart."

Rod & Steve, now have date for their plunge, 24th June 2017.

You can support their efforts and help Olivia and the families of other young children who have had a tough start in life by visiting and making a donation via Rod's page at Just Giving.

Ronald McDonald House Charities provide free ‘home away from home’ accommodation at specialist children's hospitals across the UK, enabling families to stay close to their child and maintain a degree of normal family life.

They support families while their child receives care and treatment in a specialist children's hospital by giving them a warm and welcoming place to rest their heads, just a moment away from their child. Over the last 25 years they have helped tens of thousands of families during some of the toughest periods in their lives.

You can find out more about Ronald McDonalds House by visiting their website at

The staff of Southdowns wish Rod, Steve and of course Olivia best wishes and good luck.
