Bailey refines its best-selling Approach Autograph motorhomes

Since its entry into the motorhome market three years ago Bailey of Bristol has quickly established a reputation for building vehicles which provide the unique combination of superior performance, award-winning design and unbeatable value for money. The second generation Approach Autograph range has taken this successful formula a stage further by broadening the overall appeal of our motorhomes and thus making them an attractive proposition to a wider audience.

For the 2015 season all Autograph models will be built on the new-look Peugeot Boxer graphite cab which, as well giving the vehicle a striking new appearance, also contains a number of new practical features such as LED daytime running lights and a DAB radio with Bluetooth connectivity. Every model is powered by a 2.2 Hdi 130 bhp Euro 5 engine complete with a 6-speed manual gearbox and also has both cab air conditioning and engine cruise control as standard specification.

The fully-equipped Peugeot cab is matched to a new ultra-low profile lightweight AL-KO AMC chassis which, with its lower centre of gravity, provides a more balanced weight distribution that improves road holding and braking efficiency. Whilst the bodyshell built using the Bailey patented Alu-Tech construction system, complete with a GRP outer skin and under floor protection, creates a leisure vehicle which is more robust, more durable and yet lighter than those manufactured using conventional methods to offer greater resistance against the elements to keep owners comfortable, safe and secure all year round.

Safety considerations are evident in every aspect of the design with key features, such as an ABS braking system, high performance Michelin tyres, twin cab airbags all-being specified as standard, whilst fully approved three-point seatbelts and frames are fitted to every dedicated rear passenger seat (model specific). This combined with the enhanced protection provided by the high performance Alu-Tech bodyshell and the re-enforced habitation area furniture, developed following the completion of a simulated crash test programme, set Bailey motorhomes apart from other products in terms of vehicle safety.

Model range

The 2015 Approach Autograph range will feature four existing layouts plus two new additions:-

•Approach Autograph 540 - NEW
•Approach Autograph 625 - 2 berth low-line end-lounge
•Approach Autograph 740 - 4 berth low-line end-bedroom with fixed double bed
•Approach Autograph 745 - 4 berth low-line end-bedroom with fixed double bed & designated travelling seats
•Approach Autograph 730 - NEW 4 berth low-line end-bedroom with transverse island double bed
•Approach Autograph 765 - 6 berth low-line end-lounge with drop down double bed & designated travelling seats

The Autograph 540 is a sub 6 metre long and 2.35 metre wide vehicle that shares many of the practical advantages of a panel van conversion, such as ease of use and lower running costs, but with the design flexibility and extra interior space found in a coachbuilt motorhome. Inside this 3-berth model features a full width end washroom, a central kitchen and a convertable front lounge with a drop down double bed located above to provide everything you will need for anything from a weekend break to an extended holiday.

In contrast the new Autograph 730 is a full-size 7.6 m long, four berth coachbuilt vehicle designed specifically for long-distance touring. Built on a 3,500kg AL-KO chassis this spacious layout features a transverse double island bed at the rear, a large central washroom, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a parallel seat front lounge that can be converted to provide a second double bed if required.

The introduction of these two new models means that the existing Autograph 750 and Compact 520 models will be discontinued for the 2015 season and that the Approach Compact will cease to be marketed as a separate range.

In another exciting new development Bailey is pleased to announce that will be introducing a completely new entry-level coach-built motorhome range called the Approach Advance early in 2015. Aimed at the first-time motorhome buyer, the Advance will share many of the unique features and characteristics of the up-market Autograph range, not least exceptional value for money, to bring something genuinely different to this market sector. Full details of the layouts and prices will be revealed when the Approach Advance is launched in early 2015.
