Concorde launches 2006 Charisma II

The motorhome sensation of the year

When a story appears on the cover of "promobil", Europe’s biggest motorhome magazine, you know something exciting must be happening in the industry. And you’d be right - in September 2005 Concorde launched its new Charisma II range.

Now available based on the popular Iveco Daily chassis, the new Charisma II models weigh in at 6 tonnes and feature a quiet and economical 3.0 litre engine. But for the real innovations featured in the new Concorde, take a look inside where smart Pintara upholstery, informal layouts and luxury bathrooms all add up to a design classic.

The standard Iveco dashboard has been completely revamped with a new ergonomic design and fully integrated dash- mounted gearlever. And the handbrake has been mounted on the left hand side to give easy access to the driver’s seat. For the first time in a motorhome of this class, the 2006 Charisma now features single-level flooring, giving the driver an elevated view of the road and excellent all-round vision, while creating a feeling of space that is hard to match.

Safety and security while travelling are always a priority for Concorde’s designers. Look out for the 2006 style GFRP motorhome door which now features an electromagnetic lock system, insulated security glass window and code entry for additional peace of mind. Attention has also been paid to the external locker doors which feature welded frames and robust aluminium dead locks, designed to protect your luggage and other belongings while you are on the road.

Attention has also been paid to the onboard electrical system. An elaborate data bus system controls the on-board power, with a 300 w inverter providing 230 V on the sockets, even without mains hook-up facilities. And if that’s not enough, electrics packages may be ordered to provide additional power with up to two extra batteries, or more powerful chargers or inverters.

Concorde sets new standards with the water system in the 2006 models. The Alde warm water central heating system guarantees ambient temperatures even during the winter. Internal access for filling fresh water tanks, the generous 245 L fresh and waste water tanks and improved tank draining all conspire to make this one of the most comfortable and luxurious motorhomes on the market.

In the kitchen too, cooking is a real pleasure with Corisan worktops and stainless steel hob and sink as standard, with the option of a kitchen upgrade package that includes gas oven and 170 L Dometic refrigerator.

The new Charisma II is all about choice: different upgrade packages are available for the kitchen and the electrics, and there are a wide range of optional extras including air suspension on rear axle, diff lock, xenon front lights and 6-speed gear box.
